Frequently Asked Questions

Technology in general

What technologies do the products use?

Due to the high pressure with which the water is pushed from the water treatment plants to the homes and the bends in the water pipes, as well as exposure to electromagnetic fields, the molecular structure of the water entering the home is damaged. All EWO products vitalise the water: the EWO vitalization technology ensures that the molecular structure of the water is restored and brought to its original state. This ensures that the properties of the water improve in all areas and therefore also its effects. This makes the water soft, it tastes better and is easily absorbed by the body. The vitalization of the water also ensures that hardly any limescale builds up in the pipe network, in your appliances and after water use (in the shower, sink or on the tap). Because no deposits remain in the water pipes, less energy is needed to keep the water warm and you also save on the costs of hot water. The technology in the EWO Gourmet and the EWO Vitality filter contains active carbon in block form. Due to its unique high density, the highest possible percentage of harmful substances is filtered out of the water. Medicine residues, pesticides, heavy metals (such as lead), hormones and bacteria are all filtered out of the water. The filter quality has been specifically examined for this. The quality of the cartridge in the EWO Gourmet and the EWO Vitality filter is so good that we can guarantee that it will last for at least half a year. The vitalization uses vortex, magnetism and information water. The requirements that EWO places on products in the field of water technology are very high. All products are made from sustainable materials and give the highest possible result in water quality. The materials with which the products are made are ABS plastic and stainless steel. All effects of EWO water technology are substantiated by university research and good references.

How does water filtration work?

Membrane and active carbon filters from the German manufacturer CARBONIT are used to filter water. The activated carbon is pressed and refined to high densities through a unique and internationally patented process. The CARBONIT filter cartridges meet the highest requirements of the LGA and TÜV. Due to the very high density of these filters, the highest possible percentage of microorganisms such as e-packages, salmonella, giardia and also viruses are stopped. Chlorine, copper, pesticides, organic chemicals (THMs / VOCs), drug residues (pain killers / antibiotics / estrogens) and odors and flavors are also almost completely removed. Finally, the filter outputs have a patented germ protection. However, the water remains rich in important minerals such as calcium and magnesium. CARBONIT filter cartridges have been researched by several universities and have not been surpassed by any manufacturer to date.

What is water vitalization?

Due to the high pressure with which the water is pushed from the water treatment plants to the homes and the bends in the water pipes, as well as exposure to electromagnetic fields, the molecular structure of the water entering the home is damaged. All EWO products vitalise the water: the EWO vitalization technology ensures that the molecular structure of the water is restored and brought to its original state. The vitalization of the water also ensures that hardly any limescale builds up in the pipe network, in your appliances and after water use (in the shower, sink or on the tap). Because no deposits remain in the water pipes, less energy is needed to keep the water warm and you also save on the costs of hot water. The EWO Classic and EWO Vital modules (which are also on the EWO Gourmet) vitalize the best. Because the EWO Vitality filter is somewhat smaller, the effect of vitalization is slightly less.

What is the advantage of swirling the water?

Just as the water in nature swirls and turns over stones and rocks, in the EWO method water flow is directed through the built-in double helix. Decades ago, Victor Schauberger discovered that you can revitalize water through strong turbulence. This vitalization causes the structure of the H2O molecule, or the way in which the water molecules bind together, changes. This has the effect that the special and for us humans so positive properties of natural vital water are enhanced. The swirling in our systems mimics the natural flow and thus helps to optimize the molecular structure of the water.

Why is the water magnetized?

The housing shell of the EWO devices is made of high-quality stainless steel (duplex steel 1.4462). This stainless steel is well suited for magnetization. The tap or drinking water flows through the integrated natural magnetic field. Among other things, this ensures that the lime in the water changes its behavior (from calcite, the hard, adhering form, to aragonite, the soft round shape of lime). One and the same substance can occur in different crystalline structures. This situation is referred to as polymorphi, and applies to chemical elements or compounds. Scientific research shows that vitalizing water changes the structure of the lime in it, so that there is little or no limescale and that existing limescale disappears slowly but surely.

What is information water?

The additives in the information water that are discussed are certain crystals and minerals that have been added to the water in the double walls of the EWO vitalizers. The water in your pipe takes over the frequencies and properties of these materials when it flows through the EWO vitalizer. The exact composition of this is EWO's best kept secret and they don't even tell us what exactly is inside. What they do tell us is that the information water contains the frequencies of natural Austrian mountain spring water.

What is ABS Plastic and does it not end up in the water?

The largest and in any case for the water most important part of the plastic in EWO products is ABS plastic, the same plastic that the old LEGO blocks are made of. This is a type of plastic that is 100% recyclable and in which no plasticisers or plasticizers such as BPA are used in the production process. An additional advantage of this, in contrast to the use of steel, is that this plastic is so hard that it does not release and therefore does not change the taste in the water. Almost any type of steel would do this, especially because the water from the EWO filters is also vitalized, which would enhance this flavor.

Is lime also filtered from the water?

The products deliberately do not filter lime from the water because it is an important mineral. If you take this out of the water, a shortage can occur in the body over time if you do not supplement it in another way. The vitalization technology converts the Calcium molecule from calcite (the hard, caustic form) to aragonite (a soft, hardly attacking form), which reduces and prevents limescale deposits. At high hardnesses, you may see white flakes floating in the water after filtering and vitalization by either the EWO Vitality filter or EWO Gourmet. This is Calcium in its aragonite form and is in no way harmful. However, this can cause a white haze in, for example, kettles, purely due to the amount, but this can be removed with a cold damp cloth and possibly some cleaning vinegar. In principle, no hot water or cleaning agent is needed for this.

Do the EWO systems have an effect on the pH value of the water?

The filtering but mainly the vitalization of water by means of EWO technology in both the EWO Vitality filter and EWO Gourmet optimizes the pH so that it is brought back to neutral pH. To be clear, at an initial pH of 5, the vitalization brings it up and at a pH of 9 it drops to a pH of around 7.5. Nothing is added or removed to the water to influence pH values, the values only change through the vitalization process.

Is it possible to install a filter system on the main water pipe?

The EWO Classic and EWO Dolomit are installed on the main water pipe. These do not filter the water, but only vitalize it. Filtering the mains for drinking water quality is very expensive. The reason for this is that a lot of water has to be able to pass through the main pipe and very good filters with very small holes are needed for the water to flow through. To filter the main pipe, several filters are needed so that there is no pressure loss in the pipe network. The purchase cost of a single system is around € 1400 and the recurring costs (every 6 months) around € 400. And for a household, a single system is often not enough. We only recommend filtering the main line for companies and industry in specific cases. For households we recommend the filtering & vitalization of 1 drinking water point (usually the kitchen tap) by means of the EWO Vitality Filter or EWO Gourmet. So what can be installed on the main line is a vitalizer such as the EWO Classic. This system does not remove any substances from the water and does not add anything, but ensures, for example, that limescale deposits are prevented and reduced, water devices and fittings last decades longer and at least 50% less chemicals need to be used. The molecular structure of the water is greatly improved, which has many positive effects for the human body.

Can the old carbon filters be disposed of with the residual waste?

The old carbon filters are best disposed of with the small chemical waste.

Maintenance and use of filters and vitalizers

Can / may hot water also flow through the filters?

Hot water can damage the filter cartridges in the system quite quickly. If this happens once or twice very briefly, nothing is wrong (just flush cold water through the filter as quickly as possible), but more frequent or long contact with warm or hot water will break the filter. The active carbon in the filter then decays, which then releases the already accumulated waste. If suddenly a lot more water comes out of the filter than normal, this could be a sign of a broken (ie broken) filter. We advise against further drinking this water because the already accumulated waste products can be released.

How long do the carbon filters last?

The active carbon block filters in the systems last 6 months after activation (in contact with water). After 7-8 months, there is an increasing chance that the active carbon in the filter will decay, which releases the already built-up substances in the water. It is therefore possible to use the filter for longer than 6 months, but be careful with this. We don't really recommend doing this either. If there is really a lot more water flowing out of the filter, this could be a sign of a broken (ie broken) filter. It is not advisable to continue drinking this water. If the filter is stored dry in the box, it will last up to 2.5 years before it really needs to be used. So a maximum of 5 additional filters can be purchased to use as stock.

My filter gives more / less water than xx liters per minute?

Due to variations in the production process of the filter and variations in water pressure in the house, the system may perform slightly better or worse than the stated average of xx liters per minute. If this difference is really big, it could be a sign of a broken filter. Very occasionally, the filter can break due to an error in production or an impact during transport, then much more water comes out than is supposed to happen. In any case, the absolute density of the activated carbon block filter is always at least as good as stated, the quality and density of the filter is never worse than this stated absolute density.

Are maintenance costs or actions necessary for the vitalizers?

Our vitalizers do not require any maintenance. Only in the case of the EWO Dolomit, which is only recommended under extreme conditions, a new magnesium sacrificial anode must be purchased every 1-3 years. How often depends on the water with which the EWO Dolomit comes into contact.

Is it necessary to clean the filter systems inside?

No, this is not necessary in principle, all the dirt in the water is retained in the active carbon block filter. After the filter, it is pure water. Contact with the vitalization module and the pure and vital flowing water in itself also ensures that bacterial growth is further discouraged. Which by the way, due to the purity of the water, is hardly present anyway. Never clean the active carbon block filter yourself! Hot water and pressure on the filter to scrub (and the scrubbing itself) will destroy the filter.

EWO Vitality Filter Does the system fit on my tap?

This system fits easily on all M22 connections with the supplied coupling piece. This is 22 mm thread, the European standard size for taps. If it does not fit, you can order a coupling from WereldWater. Measure the diameter of the screw thread as well as possible and pay close attention to whether it is an internal or external thread. The connectors are handmade and come from Germany. Because they have to come from Germany, it can take more than a week before they reach the customer.

A metal rod + spring fell from the bottom of the system, can I put it back?

This is the vitalization module and should be replaced with the hole pointing downwards towards the outlet of the system. The direction of the feather does not matter.

The screw thread is broken / no longer grips / the filter fell off my tap. What now?

It is a known problem that plastic-metal connections are quite sensitive and break down over time with a lot of movement. Therefore, do not move this part of the system (as little as possible) to save the thread. WereldWater can possibly send a replacement part.

How do I replace the bottom of the EWO Vitality Filter?

After disassembling the system, carefully screw the new part straight into the metal coupling that is placed on the faucet. So don't turn the metal part, but the plastic. In this way the thread is best preserved. Then stop moving this connection (realistically, so as little as possible). The cover is leaking at the top / there is a crack in the side of the system. What now? This is because the hood can sometimes no longer handle the water pressure that is in the system. Then the plastic tears where it is weakest, as well as where the pressure is highest. WereldWater can send a replacement part.

Which filter cartridge do I need for this system?

The EWO Vitality filter requires the small black EWO Vitality filter cartridge.

What is the flow rate of the EWO Vitality Filter?

The flow rate of this system should be around 0.9 liters per minute on average.

EWO Gourmet

Which system do I need?

The Single Premium 315 and Single Premium 235 are basic systems. These are systems that include a small tap that is placed next to the existing tap in the kitchen. These faucets require an extra hole in the countertop. If you have the system installed by our installer, he can make this hole for you. The other systems are three-way cranes. These replace the current tap and thus have the option of using normal hot and cold tap water, as well as drawing pure and vital water from the same tap. If you already have a three-way tap with an unused pipe, it is possible to purchase an EWO Gourmet Basic Premium. This system is supplied without a tap and can be connected to the existing tap.

Is there a difference in the EWO Gourmet Premium systems?

The only difference in the EWO Gourmet Premium systems is in the taps. The filter and vitalization quality of the water is the same in every system.

Where can the EWO Gourmet filter housing be placed?

In almost all cases, the system can easily be placed under the counter in the kitchen. Or be concealed in a cupboard in the bathroom, for example.

What are the dimensions of the cranes?

For this we have an information sheet available with the technical information of all cranes.

How big is the EWO Gourmet filter housing?

The size of the EWO Gourmet housing under the countertop is (WxHxD) 31x58x24 cm. In that case, the pipes and vitalization module must still be taken into account at the top, and for convenience, leave space at the bottom so that the filter can be easily replaced.

Which filter cartridge do I need for my Gourmet system?

The green EWO Premium Filter cartridge is required for the EWO Gourmet Premium systems.

What is the flow rate of an EWO Gourmet system?

The flow rate of an EWO Gourmet system should be on average around 2.0 liters per minute.

EWO Classic

Which system do I need for my home?

We look at this on the basis of the number of people in the house, as well as the number of appliances and other water consumers in the house. The EWO Classic systems have a maximum flow rate, which means that we have to tune this in order to achieve the best vitalization effect. Depending on the number of people in the house and consumption, we recommend the following:

1-person household - EWO Classic 3/8 inch, unless a lot of water is used.
2-person household - When there is little consumption, the EWO Classic 3 / 8th inch can barely, otherwise the EWO Classic 1 / 2nd inch.
2-5 people in the house - The EWO Classic 1 / 2nd inch is recommended here. If a lot of water is really used, the EWO Classic 3 / 4th inch is recommended.
More than 5 people up to approximately 10 people - The EWO Classic 3 / 4th inch.
Larger housing complexes, offices, industry and the like can also all be equipped with vitalizers. Please contact WereldWater for this.

Depending on what is needed, we can advise systems.

Where is the EWO Classic installed?

We always prefer to place this system as close as possible after the water meter. Depending on the situation in the fuse box, a location is selected.

I have very hard water, can I still install an EWO Classic?

When the hardness of the water approaches 15dH, it is useful to contact WereldWater. When it is near or on the border, we can try whether an EWO Classic is sufficient. If the amount of lime in the water is too much for an EWO Classic, we recommend an EWO Dolomit. It is designed for harsh conditions and reduces and prevents scale very effectively.

EWO HB

When is the best time to install an EWO HB?

The EWO HB is made to revitalize heating networks in the home. These are all closed heating circuits, such as CVs. Underfloor heating and other heating systems can also be vitalized with the EWO HB. The EWO HB helps to reduce and prevent limescale, salinization, material deposits, leaks, etc. Vitalization of the water in the circuit ensures that the costs for central heating maintenance are greatly reduced and it extends the lifespan of a new (er) central heating by ten (s) years. This effect is of course less in systems that have been in use for some time. It may even be the case in some cases that leaks and problems arise due to the revitalization of an old piping system. This system also ensures that the efficiency of the boiler increases. In most cases, this leads to energy savings of around ten percent. Vitalization of heating circuits is very beneficial for healthy climate control. Existing dirt and deposits in the pipes are removed by themselves over time and the warm air that comes from the heating network is much more pleasant.

Which system do I need for my heating circuit?

This depends on the size of the heating circuit. In most households, the basic model, the EWO HB 1/2 inch, is already sufficient for the central heating heating circuit. We recommend contacting WereldWater for accurate advice. Often clear advice can be given on the basis of photos and an explanation of the pipe network. Otherwise, a measurement can also be taken. With underfloor heating and other systems that work with water pumps, it may be that an EWO HB is required at various points in the system in order to fully and properly vitalise the network. Strong water pumps have a huge disruptive effect on the structure of the water.

I have an open heating circuit, can I use an EWO HB?

Depending on the situation, the EWO HB is not always the best choice. When the heating circuit is "open" (ie water is tapped), an EWO Vital module, EWO Classic or EWO Dolomit is a better alternative. Contact WereldWater for appropriate advice.
